METHOD 1Close All Users + Free Disk Space + RetryPrimary fix
1Close all other users: ensure no other users are logged into the company file. In multi-user mode: Tools and gt; User Management and gt; confirm no other active sessions. Sage 50 cannot back up while other users have the file open.
2Check destination space and path: right-click the backup destination drive and gt; Properties and gt; confirm at least 2x the company file size is free. If backing up to a network folder: confirm it is accessible and you have write permission. Change the backup destination to local C: as a test if the network path is suspect.
METHOD 2Run Data Maintenance + Verify DataData corruption preventing backup
1File and gt; Data Maintenance and gt; Check Data and gt; let it run and gt; if errors found: File and gt; Data Maintenance and gt; Rebuild Data Indexes and gt; repair. After repair: retry the backup. Data file corruption causes Sage to fail mid-backup when it cannot read a damaged record.
