How to Fix QuickBooks Memorized Transactions Not Working

QuickBooks memorized transactions are not running automatically, running at the wrong time, or showing an error when they attempt to process.

At QuickFix Bookkeeping, memorized transaction issues trace to: QB not being open on the scheduled date (QB must be running to process scheduled transactions), the transaction referencing an inactive account or customer, or the memorized transaction list being corrupted. QB does not run memorized transactions if it is not open -- it processes them the next time QB is opened after the scheduled date.

How to Fix QuickBooks Memorized Transactions

METHOD 1Open QB to Trigger Pending Transactions + Check ScheduleTransactions not running
1

Open QB -- if memorized transactions were missed while QB was closed, QB will prompt you to process them immediately on the next login. Accept the prompt to process all pending transactions.

2

Review the schedule: Lists and gt; Memorized Transaction List and gt; right-click each transaction and gt; Edit Memorized Transaction and gt; confirm the Next Date, frequency (Daily/Weekly/Monthly), and number of remaining transactions are set correctly.

METHOD 2Fix Referenced Accounts or CustomersTransaction references inactive item
1

If a memorized transaction fails with an error about a missing item: the customer, vendor, account, or item it references has been made inactive. Make the referenced item active again (Lists and gt; find the item and gt; make active) and gt; retry the memorized transaction. Or edit the memorized transaction to reference an active replacement.

METHOD 3Delete and Recreate the Memorized TransactionTransaction list corrupted
1

Lists and gt; Memorized Transaction List and gt; right-click the problematic transaction and gt; Delete. Then create the transaction fresh: enter it exactly as it should appear and gt; Edit menu and gt; Memorize and gt; set the schedule and gt; save. A fresh memorized transaction avoids any corruption in the old entry.
