QuickBooks Direct Connect fails to connect -- the bank connection times out, credentials are rejected, or QB says the bank doesn't support Direct Connect when it previously did.

At QuickFix Bookkeeping, Direct Connect is a bank-side service that requires separate Direct Connect credentials (not the same as online banking login), a Direct Connect subscription through the bank (some banks charge for it), and the bank to still offer the service. Many banks have moved from Direct Connect to Express Web Connect -- verifying which your bank supports is the first step.

Call your bank's business banking team and ask: (1) Does the bank offer QuickBooks Direct Connect? (2) Are there separate credentials required? Many banks issue a separate Direct Connect PIN or password that differs from the online banking password. Get these credentials and enter them in QB's bank setup.
