How to Fix QuickBooks Subscription Has Lapsed

QuickBooks displays "Your QuickBooks subscription has lapsed" or "This product is no longer active" -- QB locks access to the company file.

At QuickFix Bookkeeping, subscription lapse errors are caused by a failed payment (expired credit card, declined charge), the subscription being cancelled, or a billing account mismatch. Your data is safe -- QB does not delete data when a subscription lapses. Reactivating restores full access immediately.

How to Fix QuickBooks Subscription Lapsed

METHOD 1Update Payment Method + Reactivate at IntuitPrimary fix
1

Update payment: log into qbo.intuit.com or account.intuit.com and gt; Billing and Subscription and gt; update the payment method with a current credit card and gt; reactivate the subscription. Alternatively: call Intuit billing at 1-800-446-8848 to reactivate over the phone.

2

Sync QB after reactivation: Help and gt; Manage My License and gt; Sync License Data Online. QB refreshes the subscription status and removes the lapse message immediately.

METHOD 2Check Which Intuit Account Holds the SubscriptionBilling account mismatch
1

The QB subscription may be under a different Intuit account than the one you are logged into. Check account.intuit.com with every email address associated with the business. The subscription must be active under the account linked to the QB installation. If found under a different account: transfer the subscription or reinstall QB linked to the correct account.

METHOD 3Access Data While Lapsed via View-Only ModeNeed data before reactivating
1

QB Desktop allows view-only access for up to 30 days after subscription lapses -- you can view reports and export data but not enter new transactions. Use this window to export critical data: File and gt; Utilities and gt; Export and gt; Lists to IIF Files while working on reactivation. Reactivate the subscription to restore full access.
