How to Fix QuickBooks Error 323

QuickBooks displays: "Error 323: We are unable to update your account. The account already exists." during bank feed setup or update.

Error 323 means QB's bank feed is detecting a duplicate account -- the bank account you are trying to add or update is already connected to another QB account, either in the same company file or from a previous connection that wasn't fully removed. At QuickFix Bookkeeping, the fix requires identifying and removing the duplicate connection before setting up fresh.

1

Check all bank accounts: Banking tab and gt; review every account listed and gt; look for duplicate entries for the same bank. Lists and gt; Chart of Accounts and gt; check for multiple accounts connected to the same institution.

2

Deactivate the duplicate: find the account with the existing connection and gt; Edit Account and gt; Online Services and gt; Deactivate All and gt; Save. Wait 2 minutes and gt; reconnect the correct account only. Error 323 will clear once the duplicate is removed.
